My back pain started when I was 22 and I hurt my back from wearing the wrong shoes. They threw out my back and so I threw them away. Problem was that unlike the shoes, my back pain continued to give me problems for years. I took precautions to try to with my back pain and one of those precautions was to buy a state of the art, 8 Hour Work Day, ergonomic chair. I was so proud of my purchase that I literally would sit in the chair for 8 hours every day and eliminated my stretch breaks for my back pain. What was I thinking?
I was thinking that this chair was the best money could buy for my back pain and that if it said I could sit in it for 8 hours then that’s what I was going to do. Boy was I wrong. I would get home with back pain, but I wouldn’t associate the pain to the 8-hour chair. When the back pain got really bad, I started going to my physical therapist. It wasn’t until much later that I realized my mistake of not taking the much needed breaks away from the chair.
This is one silly example, but I can’t image how many other things people in their 20s and 30s are doing at work that are negatively impacting their health. Sometimes we think that the people with pain are those in their 80s and that their pain is from old age. When in fact, the best time to take care of yourself is in the moment and not wait until you are broken beyond repair.
I am saying to buy that chair, the ergonomic mouse and other things that will help. But I am also saying to do the stretches, exercise, eat healthy, and do that now. Today is the best day to gain work wellness which ultimately translates into life wellness.
Workvie’s mission, which is my mission is to help working people to work better and live better. I use the Work Pain Relief Cream to help with my back pain, but I also do the other things such as walking away from the 8 Hour Chair.
